INTRODUCTION
Purpose:
- Support Educational Leaders (ELs) in guiding educators, strengthening relationships with children and families, and embedding consistent, high-quality practice.
- Align centre practices with NQS Quality Areas, especially QA1, QA4, and QA7.
- Mentor and coach educators
- Oversee curriculum implementation
- Embed consistency of care across all rooms
- Support Assessment & Rating preparation
- Foster strong family partnerships and maintain enrolment
- Follow the sections sequentially or as a quick reference
- Use the checklists and templates daily/weekly
- Reflect regularly and document improvements
SECTION 1 — LEADERSHIP & MENTORING
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting relationships with educators
- Model relationship-focused practice with children and families
- Support educator professional growth and wellbeing
- Observe educator-child interactions at least weekly
- Give timely, constructive feedback
- Plan mentoring sessions: focus on consistency of care, classroom routines, and engagement strategies
