By participating in this training, teams will:
- Strengthen their understanding of how the selected Quality Areas interconnect to support children’s learning, safety, wellbeing, and development.
- Build confidence in implementing intentional, reflective, and child-centred curriculum practices aligned with EYLF V2.0.
- Develop practical strategies to support children’s health, safety, independence, and emotional wellbeing through proactive and preventative approaches.
- Learn how to design and maintain inclusive, engaging, and sustainable environments that support exploration, belonging, and participation.
- Enhance team collaboration, communication, and supervision practices to support consistent, safe, and effective staffing arrangements.
- Strengthen their ability to build secure, respectful, and responsive relationships with children, supporting agency, attachment, and emotional regulation.
- Understand how leadership, philosophy, self-assessment, and the QIP guide daily practice and drive continuous improvement.
- Improve their capacity to reflect on, explain, and evidence their practice during Assessment & Rating conversations.

- Deep understanding of EYLF V2.0 principles and outcomes, embedding intentional teaching at every opportunity.
- Documentation and planning cycles that are visible, meaningful, reflective, and collaboratively reviewed.

QUALITY AREA 2: Children’s Health and Safety
Focus: Promoting holistic wellbeing, safety, and protection for every child through proactive, collaborative, and reflective practice.
Key Development:
- Comprehensive health, hygiene, nutrition, and daily care practices that are consistent, responsive, and informed by best practice.
- Rigorous, ongoing risk assessments for indoor/outdoor environments, routines, and excursions, with educators actively anticipating and minimising risks.
- Clear understanding of child protection obligations, including mandatory reporting, response protocols, and ongoing staff training.
- Strong procedures for illness, injury, and emergency management that are well understood, regularly rehearsed, and exceed compliance standards.
- Collaborative partnerships with families and relevant professionals/community agencies to support children’s health, medical needs, safety, and wellbeing (e.g., inclusion specialists, therapists, child protection services, health professionals).
- Preventative and wellbeing-focused practices, including supporting children’s independence, body awareness, safe decision-making, and emotional security in daily routines.
- QUALITY AREA 3: Physical Environment
- Focus: Safe, inclusive, and stimulating spaces that foster learning, curiosity, and wellbeing.
Key Development: - Design environments that reflect children’s culture, interests, identities, and abilities, promoting engagement, belonging, and agency in the space.
- Maintain safe, well-organised indoor and outdoor environments with clear supervision, accessible resources, and thoughtful layout supporting independence and exploration.
- Provide outdoor spaces that encourage risky play, gross motor development, nature connection, and environmental awareness, with regular risk–benefit reflection.
- Create sensory-friendly and inclusive environments that support diverse learning needs, emotional regulation, and full participation for every child.
- Embed sustainable practices and environmental responsibility through natural materials, recycling, gardening, energy awareness, and opportunities for children to care for their environment.
QUALITY AREA 4: Staffing Arrangements- Focus: Consistent, collaborative, and highly effective teams.
Key Development: - Maximising educator-to-child ratios and maintaining safe supervision practices.
- Team communication strategies including handover, check-ins, and reflective zoning.
- Clearly defined roles, professional conduct, and supportive, respectful workplace culture.

QUALITY AREA 5: Relationships with Children- Focus: Secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationships supporting social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Key Development: - Implement attachment-informed approaches (e.g., key educator model) to support wellbeing and learning.
- Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour guidance without punitive practices.
- Use respectful, culturally safe, and inclusive interactions in all settings.
- Support each child’s voice, agency, and autonomy in decision-making.
QUALITY AREA 7: Governance and Leadership- Focus: Strong leadership, professional development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Development: - Ensure all decisions align with the service philosophy and vision, embedding values into every action.
- Develop, review, and embed the QIP as a living document guiding daily practice.
- Embed effective self-assessment processes so teams can critically evaluate practice, identify strengths, and plan improvements.
- Demonstrate a proactive commitment to continuous improvement and compliance, showing evidence of exceeding NQF standards.
- Support Educational Leaders in curriculum leadership, reflective practice, and mentoring.
- Implement professional learning plans that empower and inspire educators.
