Overview
Quality in Practice is a full day, live online professional learning experience designed for early learning centres seeking meaningful, practical, and compliant professional development for their entire team.
Aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS), this day supports educators to strengthen professional identity, deepen understanding of child development, enhance guidance and behaviour practices, design high-quality learning environments, streamline documentation, build strong family partnerships, and prioritise educator wellbeing.
This professional learning day is suitable for whole-centre in-service days and provides strong evidence for Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs), staff professional development records, and continuous improvement requirements.
Session Schedule (All times are in AEDT - New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania times)
9:00am–10:00am
Session 1: The Modern Educator – Purpose, Impact and Professional Identity
This session invites educators to reflect on the importance of their professional role and the impact they have on children, families, and communities. Educators will explore professional identity, ethical practice, and accountability, while engaging in guided reflection on values, strengths, and areas for growth. The session supports the development of a reflective culture where educators feel confident, valued, and committed to ongoing learning.
10:00am–11:00am
Session 2: Child Development in Action (0–6 Years)
Educators deepen their understanding of child development across the early years, linking theory to everyday practice. This session explores how children learn through play, relationships, and responsive interactions. Developmental milestones, individual differences, and intentional teaching are examined to support children’s identity, wellbeing, and learning.
11:00am–12:00pm
Session 3: Guidance, Behaviour and Emotional Regulation
This session focuses on positive, respectful guidance approaches that support children’s emotional development and sense of belonging. Educators explore the foundations of behaviour, emotional regulation, brain development, and the role of secure relationships. Practical strategies are shared to support children to express emotions and develop self-regulation skills.

1:45pm–2:45pm
Session 5: Observation, Documentation and Planning Made Easy
This practical session supports educators to streamline observation, documentation, and planning processes while maintaining quality and compliance.
