Overview:
In this session, educators will learn how to use reflection, goal setting, and teamwork to strengthen their practice and enhance children’s learning. You will explore strategies for setting intentional goals for yourself, your team, and the children, understand how collaborative practice improves outcomes, and discover ways to link your professional growth to children’s holistic development across social-emotional, cognitive, physical, language, and creative domains — all grounded in the EYLF Practices and NQS Quality Areas.

Module 1 – Reflect: Learning from Practice

- Identify personal strengths and areas for improvement.
- Reflection transforms experience into meaningful learning.
- Wellbeing and self-awareness influence responsiveness to children.
- Links to EYLF Practices: Holistic approaches, Intentional teaching, Assessment for learning.
- Think of a professional moment from last year that shaped your practice.
- Pair-share: “What did you learn and how will it influence your teaching?”
- Group discussion: How reflection impacts children and team collaboration.
Module 2 – Reset: Setting Intentional Goals
Learning Objectives:
- Learn to set SMART goals: personal, team, and children-focused.
- Connect goals to EYLF and NQS frameworks.
- Understand how intentional goals improve team and child outcomes.
- Goals guide focus, action, and measurable outcomes.
- Personal goals, team goals, and children’s development goals are interconnected.
- “Seeds of Change” exercise: Write 3 goals (personal, team, children-focused).
- Group discussion: How these goals contribute to children’s learning and team success.
Module 3 – Rise: Working Collaboratively to Support Children’s Development
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the impact of teamwork on children’s holistic development.
- Learn strategies for effective collaboration and shared decision-making.
- Apply reflective practice and goal-setting to support children’s learning.
- Strong teams create consistent, intentional, and responsive learning environments.
- Teamwork supports children’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, language, and creative development.
